ADD Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women whose common problem is a neurobiological condition that is genetically transmitted and is present in individuals from birth. It cannot be acquired as one grows older--but it does evolve over time. The symptoms may appear at different times, but the condition is always present. These symptoms make it difficult for the sufferer to function effectively in everyday affairs.
We share our experience, strength, and hope with other ADD adults who are searching for a way to improve the quality of their lives. Membership does not require an official diagnosis of ADD--it simply requires that one relate with the symptoms and have a desire to change.
ADD Anonymous is not allied with any sect, denomination, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. We rely upon the wisdom and knowledge of the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions as adapted for our purpose from Alcoholics Anon. Although separate entities, we should always cooperate with other twelve-step recovery programs.
